Measurement of Coronary Sinus Blood Flow

چکیده
In 14 subjects with normal coronary arteries the mean coronary sinus blood flow was 122 25 mI/min (range, 83 to 159 ml/min). The blood flow computed per 100 g of left ventricle was 82 + 16 ml/min, which is in the range of values obtained by nitrous oxide and coincidence counting methods. In 35 patients with arteriographically confirmed coronary artery disease the mean flow was similar (128 + 20 ml/min; range, 92 to 167 ml/min). A special catheter was used for simultaneous measurement of blood flow in the coronary sinus and great cardiac vein. In eight normal subjects the mean great cardiac vein flow was 68 + 11 ml/min (range, 51 to 78 ml/min) or 65 + 10% of the coronary sinus blood flow. The method allowed continuous measurement of flow over a period of several minutes and, for the first time, measurement of rapid changes in myocardial perfusion.

متن کاملCoronary sinus blood flow and coronary haemodynamic function in children: measurement by the continuous thermodilution method with coronary sinus cannulation via the femoral vein.
In 19 children with Kawasaki disease without any cardiac sequelae the coronary sinus was cannulated via the femoral vein with a specially designed flow catheter and coronary sinus blood flow was measured by the continuous thermodilution method. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between coronary sinus blood flow and age, body surface area, and left ventricular mass, but ...

Coronary sinus occlusion retards necrosis of ischemic myocardium. To test the hypothesis that coronary sinus occlusion induces retrograde venoarterial flow, the coronary arteriovenous pressure gradient and the coronary arterial oxygen saturation were measured distal to a left anterior descending coronary artery ligature in dogs. In parallel, we constructed a mathematical model of known coronary...

• The Kety-Schmidt method for measurement of regional blood flow was first applied to the heart by Eckenhoff et al. These investigators employed coronary sinus catheterization to measure myocardial blood flow with nitrous oxide. The use of a radioactive gas and an external detector for the measurement of organ blood flow was investigated by Conn, Lewis et al., and Lassen et al. The radioactive ...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the Coronary Flow Reserve in the Coronary Sinus through transesophageal Doppler echocardiography in normal subjects. METHODS We obtained technically adequate flow samples for analysis in 10 healthy volunteers (37+/-8 years, 5 men) with no history of heart or systemic disease and with mean left ventricular mass index by transthoracic echocardiography of 87+/-18 g/m2.
